With a very heavy heart, the Eureka Community Players have determined there will be no play during the Quilt Show weekend. After much discussion, it became obvious that the Community Hall was too small under Phase II restrictions to put on a play. Originally our plan was to do the play if Montana went into Phase III by June 29th. Normally, we allow six weeks for rehearsal and that date would have allowed a condensed four week schedule. Since that did not happen, we could not get the play performance ready even if Phase III happened prior to the Quilt Show weekend. Our goal is to keep actors and audience members safe and we could not find a way to do that while in Phase II. Our hope is to have our event in the Fall and some kind of Christmas play.
Community Players President John LaBonty said, “Everyone stay safe and well. Thank you for your past support, we look forward to continuing live theatre as soon as this pandemic is over.”
